These TweetUps will be kicking off on Tuesday, May 28, and conclude with the #TweetIEs TweetUp Awards on Friday, May 31. GoAbroad is thrilled to be co-hosting these TweetUps alongside Mandy’s Mashups, Academic Programs International, NAFSA: Association of International Educators, and GoMedia.
What is a TweetUp?
A TweetUp is an event that brings together people who use Twitter, allowing them to connect and get to know each other in person. The TweetUps at NAFSA present a great chance to connect with other international educators who you may only know through social media, as well as learn and share more than you can with 140 characters at a time 😉
Even if you aren’t on Twitter, these TweetUps are also an opportunity to learn about the platform and how to utilize it. We encourage attendance from anyone interested in learning more!

The first TweetUp will kick off on Tuesday, May 28 with the chance to show off your best social media t-shirt. Don’t be afraid to let your inner social media nerd shine, as this is your chance to bring your ‘A’ game!
The hosts of the NAFSA 2013 TweetUps will determine the winners of the best t-shirts, and the winners will receive a surprise gift from one of the prize sponsors below!

To wrap up the conference, the hosts of the NAFSA 2013 TweetUps are thrilled to bring you the #TweetIEs Awards! In addition to receiving a goodie bag for attending, the #TweetIEs Award winners will be presented. Winners will recieve a surprise gift from the sponsors mentioned above.
The categories which will be presented and awarded during the #TweetIEs include:

- Most Creative #IamIE

To have your tweets considered for these categories, you can begin tweeting them during the first TweetUp on Tuesday.
Keep in mind that you MUST use the #NAFSA13 hashtag in your tweets to be considered for any of these award categories.
