With the launch of the new GoAbroad Internship Institute, the GoAbroad team is pleased to introduce you to the new faces who are working out of our Fort Collins, CO headquarters this summer. Over the coming week we will be featuring one-on-one interviews with each of our fabulous interns, providing some background on their role at GoAbroad and what they enjoy most about living in Colorado!

Tell us about yourself and your position at GoAbroad.
Hi, I’m Michael Canlas. I studied Biochemistry at Colorado State University. I’m taking a whole new direction and doing some programming here at GoAbroad. I’m currently working on developing and maintaining a wide range of websites as well as helping come up with new ideas to better the sites.
What is one thing travel has taught you?
One thing travel has taught me was not to be scared to explore and discover.
If you were in Game of Thrones, what house would you be in? Why?
I would probably be House Tully. Family, duty, honor are the house words and those are pretty important to me.
What three words would your best friend use to describe you?
Sincere, reliable, and independent.
If you could visit any place, real or fictional, where would you go and why?
I’ve always wanted to go to Hogwarts. I was a huge fan of Harry Potter when I was growing up. How cool would it be to explore Hogwarts and hang with Harry? I’m still waiting for my letter…
